Thursday - March 9

Hello from Carmel, CA.......we were off to the airport at 5:10 this morning and had a 6 hour, 10 minute flight to San Francisco.     The sun was shining, we got our rental car and headed south.    What spectacular scenery along the way - wow!!!     It was about a 2 hour drive to Carmel and what fun to be here again.    It has been 20+ years since we visited and it is still just so charming and of course, very high end.

We parked and walked across the street to The Forge for a wonderful lunch on the outdoor patio with   ivy-covered walls and pretty flowers in big tubs.    There were several brick fireplaces with nice fires going - what a gorgeous setting with clear blue skies and 70 degrees

Wine time before awesome lunch

Just a few of many tubs of flowers

Mark's lava cake as the grand finale
This had almond ice cream and fresh fruit - hmmmm

We walked around downtown - such neat architecture and everything so upscale!

The Mission Inn

Lovely place with the hills and cattle grazing in the distance.

This weekend kicks off the 2017 Blue Angel season in El Centro (about 550 miles away).    What good memories we have from the past 2 years there, watching the Blues practice from the hay bales, the big bash the town threw on Friday night at the base and then then the 1st air show on Saturday!

We wish the Blues a safe successful season and hope we can attend a show somewhere this year?

 Someone to make you "smile"
Doesn't she look like a "doll"?

Tomorrow we plan to check out Pebble Beach, Monterey and then on to all the pre-wedding fun in Morgan Hill.
