Friday - May 5

We enjoyed a beautiful sunny day (a bit chilly and breezy, but.....the sun made it feel sooo good)!

We left at 7:30 for Mendota and a day of visiting the kinfolk starting with my cousin Jim at the Lutheran Home.  We had a short visit and took him down for "music" where several residents were gathered in a big circle listening to records of old timey music from the 40's (or before).    Everyone seemed to be enjoying and reminiscing as they tapped their feet, napped, etc.

Then onto visit cousin Dick (Jim's brother).    Dick is dealing with some health issues and we had not seen him in a long time.     Enjoyed our time with him and praying he feels better soon!   Then to my Aunt Marian (Dad's sister).     She is 88 an doing so well at Stonecroft and keeping very active.     She's a sweetie and always enjoy our time with her.

And last but not least to Bob and Linda's - 1st time we had seen them since February in FL and since Linda's hip replacement in March.    Lots of catching up and a great Chinese lunch at Mendota's  China House (excellent)!    Back to their house and we gals yakked while Bob and Mark went out to the farm.     We left around 3ish with plans to come together in NC this summer.     We'll see them in 2 weeks also at their granddaughter Kaylee's baptism.

On the way home Mark suggested we stop in Eureka for ice cream at Uncle Bob's which is homemade and a good spot we hit a few times last fall.    So......I had a scoop of rum chata salted caramel  and Mark had dark chocolate.    Definitely be back there.

Back to Daisy and went out and walked off a "few" calories from today's good eating.    It is still windy, but the sun felt good....we bundled up and took off.    Tonight I'm enjoying a treat in honor of Cinco de Mayo!

Cheers.....no salt or fresh lime, but still good!
