Saturday - June 9

Cloudy and cool.....we left at 9:20 and I fixed omelets and bagels along the way.    We traveled 21 miles, went thru 3 locks and arrived in Seneca Falls at 12:45.

While cruising on the Erie Canal we are going under many bridges and some of them are not tall enough for Catrina, so....we've had to take down our back bimini (canvas and frame.)   We also took down our antenna and radar arch and then we are good to go!    Most of the boats we've seen (not many) are smaller and have no issues with bridges.    We are now on the Cayuga/Seneca Canal in the Finger Lakes region.

Interesting to see today.... this aqueduct carried the Erie Canal water over the Seneca river on a series of 31 stoned arches.    The aqueduct was 900 feet long and completed in 1857.    The stone arches are in relatively good shape.

We are tied up to the wall here in town (2nd night of no charge thanks to the fine folks in New York).    We took an elevator 2 floors up to the street side where the shops and restaurants are on Fall Street (several empty stores, too).    Stopped at Bee's Cakes and Catering for coffee and walked a little bit - hip is still so sore.    I have not heard back from Brian...…….

There is a museum here of Seneca Falls artifacts and also a museum for the movie
"It's a Wonderful Life".

Late this afternoon, the sun came out and 75 degree temps - absolutely beautiful evening!   Had drinks on Catrina's bridge and read our books.
