Tuesday - January 25

Rain in the forecast but the sun as shining and rain held off till late afternoon.    We left at 8 for downtown and the Looper Reunion - gold loopers (those who have completed the loop;) platinum loopers (those who've done it 2x), white loopers (currently doing the loop); and then several there to see what it's all about.

This was held at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center and they were expecting 450, but maybe more like 350ish?    Hard to tell as we were well spread out in various groups.   Tasty buffet lunch of chicken, beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable medley, caesar salad, rolls and assorted desserts.

Folks were there from all over the USA....and the couple who traveled the farthest came from the state of Washington.    It was so nice to see Carol and Bob from Venice (winter home) and Hawthorne Woods, IL (summer) or Racine where they keep their boat.    We first met them in the late 90's as we were dockmates on E-12 at Reefpoint Marina, Racine.   Bob and Carol did the loop in 2003-05; and 2009-11 for us

The seminars we attended were "Cruising the Down East Loop", social time with gold loopers. introduction of all the gold loopers and sharing about their boat, when they did the loop and favorite memory.  Ended the afternoon at a round-discussion on switching to RVing after the boat sells.........several were interested in this.
