Saturday - March 12

This is the big day here in El Centro and around the country as families/friends/fans await the 1st show of the Blue Angels 2016 season and kick-off of their 70th anniversary year.    This morning while we were out walking, we saw LONG lines of cars coming to the show.

What a difference a day makes.....after all the crazy wind yesterday and last night, today is spectacular with deep blue, cloudless skies, birds are singing, slight breeze and the temp is to be 79.

We opened our door and windows and had a relaxing morning with our kindles and laptops.

These signs are frequently posted here on base.    The average rainfall for the year in
El Centro is just above 2"......unreal!!!    And not uncommon for the high to reach 128 in
the summer time!    We are very close to the Mexican border.

It is now 8:30 Saturday evening and we are sitting in the San Diego airport waiting for our red eye flight to Newark and then onto FL.

Been a very big day!   A great performance by the Blues on a super spectacular day, pictures with the team and then the 2-hour drive from El Centro = 2 very tired nomads.

Proud Mom and Dad with #5
