Monday - November 14

Long day of travel but

"WE HAVE ARRIVED AT LAKE JAMES"

We so enjoyed the hospitality from Jeff and Ryan and after a delicious breakfast we packed up the kiddies and off we went.

Ryan Jack and Jeff
(great host and hostess)

There are very serious fires burning out of control in Georgia and North Carolina so had a lot of smoky haze.

The guys had a great day cruising and are anchored out tonight enjoying the spectacular large orange moon

Ryan and Michael just hangin' out on Terraphobic

On Friday night when we were at Boss Bernacchi's home, Becca gave the Moms of the 3 pilots who are not married this wonderful pillow.

One of Ryan's fight suits made into a memorable keepsake

That's probably enough photos from this "bittersweet" weekend!
But wanted to share this...

Back in the spring, the Smithsonian hired a photographer to travel with the Blue Angels to several shows and take photos in honor of their 70th anniversary.    He took "45,000" pics and then was asked to choose his "30" favorites.......they were on display at the Naval Museum Saturday night and after that will be shown off at the Smithsonian!

Here's one of those chosen...
Ryan flying upside down over San Francisco

After 2 long days in the car, we are heading to bed shortly!
Luke and Maeve were excellent little travelers!
