Thursday - January 5

Anne and Connor went to the pool but 2 people were doing laps, so that didn't work....after sausage/cheese omelets and toast, we left at 9:30 for Ave Maria and showed the Campbell's around this neat community near Naples that is in the middle of nowhere al built around the Catholic church and university.    It has exploded since we were there a few years ago.    Many more homes (lots of construction) + all the shops, businesses and restaurants.

Stopped at Publix for some sub sandwiches and on our way to The Everglades and an airboat ride.    Had a little picnic waiting for our ride.   Evan was our guide, but did not do much, talked very little and liked to go fast off and on and get us wet!   Oh well, it was neat meandering thru the mangroves (3 types - red, black and white).   Saw one alligator.

Drove around Everglade City and  then on home.    Anne and Connor went back to the pool and Connor was able to do his laps.   Liam, Mark and I took a nap.

The boys are loving Emma and Molly (2 Australian Shepherds here in the park) as they sure miss Frankie and Gibson.

We went to The Boathouse for dinner and met Jim and Lydia there.    Another good meal, conversation and the boys got to watch the World Junior Hockey tournament championship game in Moncton, New Brunswick.    While there, it poured - nice rain we needed.    Said our good byes to Jim and Lydia who are off to Aruba for 2 weeks and 3 of their kiddos and families will be joining them.    Safe travels and FUN getaway!

Back home and boys watched rest of the game between Canada and The Czech Republic.

They really enjoyed the hockey game last night at the Hertz Arena - the Greenville Swamp Rabbits beat the Florida Everglades 3-2.
