Tuesday - June 13

Another brisk, blustery day - 53 this morning with rain, then sun and of course, strong winds.   I was off to get a manicure and toe polish change with Amanda.    Nice visiting with her at BeYOUtiful - appreciate her getting me in as Danielle is out of town.

On home and Mark was waxing Flo....puts the polish on and will leave for several days and then wipe off.

My new phone (SE3 2023) arrived today and Mark is getting all the stuff transferred from old phone which was not keeping the battery charged after 3 years.

We went to Bistro 163 for lunch - this is the place that is a "Pay it Forward" Restaurant benefitting those in need.   We pay the recommended price + any extra.    It is a very popular place, food is excellent and so many wonderful choices all prepared and served by volunteers.   We went there a few times last summer so really nice to be back and "do our little part".

Off to Fremont at 3 for Mark's 3rd visit with Dr. DeRodes who today, admitted he was "stumped" about why the eye is not responding to 2 kinds of drops (antibiotic and steroid) + over-the-counter drops, but still so watery and red and now some outside pain on his face.    Dr.  dilated the eye and brought out several new lenses, bright lights including headlamp and really checked the eye out.   There is definitely an abrasion, so now prescribing an ointment to see if that will clear it up.    He wrote the orders for blood work tomorrow (regarding the facial pain).   Mark had an appt. for Friday which the Dr. wants him to keep.   Dr. is going on vacation next week (Ozarks and Graceland) so he wants to stay on top of this before he leaves.

Stopped at WalMart in Port Clinton to get some Rx (including the ointment) and a few groceries and on home.    The winds are sooo strong again!

Annette, Luke, Maeve and some friends spent yesterday in Dollywood - had a great time

This sweet little girl and what an amazing "peacock"!
Annette and kiddos got to tour Dolly's RV
I'll bet Maeve was in her glory seeing Dolly's vanity area.

So tomorrow we're to be at the hospital in Fremont (1/2 hour away) by 8:30 for the blood work - he has to fast after midnight.

Thankful that my cousin Jane's hubby Joe and Annette's Mom, Judy both had successful surgery today (heart and orthopedic).   Wishing them both a speedy full recovery!

Today they poured cement into the cylinders (pointed ends went into water) and now will cap them before the track goes on.    Quite a process and Mark has a ring-side seat here on Catrina.    He will miss all the goings on once they are finished...but not the noise😌
