Saturday - Wednesday, October 4-8

Busy, fun days and no time to update the blog,.....so here goes with an update from North Carolina.    I'll start back at the beginning with Saturday and our drive to Chicago for our nephew's wedding - beautiful and a fun family affair!

Ed and Morgan

We were up early Sunday morning and off to O'Hare - Mark flew stand-by to Greenville, rented a car and drove to Charlotte where Linda and I landed a bit later.    We drove to Michael and Brooke's for short visit and then to Lake James.

Ron and Vicki arrived and we all went for a pontoon ride on this gorgeous afternoon.

Linda, Ron and Vicki hanging out on the patio   We all went to Morganton for dinner with Bob and Judy (Brooke's parents) at Judges - it was Bob's 75th birthday!    Fun evening!

Monday morning, we gals left for Asheville - checked into the Grand Bohemian (wow -   highly recommend this place)!    We shopped, had a  great lunch at The Corner Kitchen and shopped some more.   Linda and I took a cab downtown to shop at Top's Shoes - more wow!    I got 2 pairs and she got 1.   Raining hard when we came back to hotel.    Nice and cozy inside and wonderful dinner at The Red Stag (dining room at hotel).

We have our hot cider and ready to take on the shops of Asheville - pretty fall entrance to
The Grand Bohemian

Tuesday morning we had breakfast at the hotel and then drove to the Biltmore - the girls' 1st time and my 2nd.   It was just awesome!

And then we drove to the Biltmore Inn for High Tea with magnificent views and beautiful ambiance.    The tea and all the food was very, very good in a lovely setting.    Afterwards we sat on the verandah overlooking the mountains and grounds of the
Biltmore Estate.   We had appetizers and wine in the lounge of the Red Stag.

While we girls were boosting the Asheville economy, Mark and Ron were hanging out at Lake James working on some projects, getting Daisy out of storage and ready for travel, and just chillin'.

After breakfast this morning, Ron and Mark drove to Asheville and met us - we checked out of hotel, they left for home and we came back to stay with Brooke and kids (Michael is in Chicago).    The boys have  3-day fall break.

It was a great visit to Asheville and we sure could've stayed longer - more shops and restaurants were waiting    Another very enjoyable sisters-in-law getaway and celebrated Linda's milestone birthday which was in April.

We arrived in Newton around 11:15.   It is a gorgeous day!
