Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary to us!
June 28, 2015
So blessed and thankful for all these years
together! May the adventures continue...
Beautiful Sunday in Deltaville after all the rain. We took the courtesy car to 9:00 Mass at Church of the Visitation in
Topping, VA (11 miles west). On our way there, the highway was blocked as a large tree had fallen across the road and police had arrived, so must've just happened? Found an alternate route and then a very warm, welcoming congregation.
We were amazed at how high the corn is here (lots of corn and wheat fields) AND it has already tasseled out - not even July 1st?
Mark had mentioned to the dockmaster that today was our anniversary, so he asked if we wanted to use the car tonight to go out for a nice dinner! How nice was that since they request all cars be returned by 5 before they close. So, we chucked the idea of grilling chicken and took Jimmy's recommendation to eat at Eckhard's in Topping. Jimmy made a reservation for us!
Had a yummy breakfast of sausage, eggs and toast and then went for 2.5 mile walk in some of the very rural countryside and past many little vacation cottages on the Chesapeake. Also sat on the porch here at the marina in their comfy white rocking chairs
Enjoyed a leisurely afternoon as Mark is studying charts, forecast, etc., in hopes we can be on our way tomorrow bright 'n early!
We were reminiscing about the various places we've spent
June 28th since Mark retired (2006)....
2009 was a favorite - we and Daisy were on the ferry from Bellingham, WA to the inland passage of Alaska. We were seated at table #40 (pure coincidence) on our 40th anniversary
Happy Birthday to Mark's sister, Joan who was just 14 when
we got married.
So we went to Eckhard's for dinner - very good and topped it off with warm blackberry cobbler a la mode (for 2) with a candle. Jimmy had told them it was our anniversary!
Celebrating #46
Thanks for all the texts, e-mails and phone calls today...
It was a great day in Deltaville!

Happy Belated 46th Anniversary Mark and Pat! Great you were able to celebrate your special day in a special way and what a nice man, Jimmy was. Hope your engine worries will soon be resolved completely and the rest of your travels safe, worry-free and memorable. We are now in Jasper parked in Irvin's Park and Campground near Valemount, British Columbia for a couple of nights. I'm almost up to date with my blog. Jim suggested I use Word document so the internet wouldn't kick me out so now I copy and paste and just add the pictures. What a smart man!! When it's all good, I just delete my word document. Yea!! So much less stress for me and hopefully stay on top of our travels. Take care. Love you guys.
