Monday - April 3

Stormy night in Georgetown, SC.......after a great start to the day, the nasty weather that's been coming across the country has finally hit us!

We left Isle of Palms at 8:35, cruised 54 miles and arrived in Georgetown at noon.    We had the wind behind us today so much better than yesterday; however, as we were coming into the Harborwalk Marina, we turned directions and whoaaaa....headed directly into the wind and they were stronger than yesterday!    So glad to be tied up and batten down the hatches waiting for tonight's storm!

Georgetown is one of the little towns in the south we may consider moving to once we put down some roots.    Each time we visit, we find something else that we really like.    I did some shopping and have memories of being here in September, 2013 with Linda and Vicki (sisters-in-law) shopping for our grandchildren.    And then 5 days later, there was a very tragic fire that destroyed several businesses including Doodlebugs (children's shop).    There is a tall black fence that stands where the old historic buildings (with apartments upstairs) used to be.

Fortunately those business have relocated and doing well.    They may make those vacant lots into a park-like area.    I did 2 loads off laundry in the afternoon - we had planned to walk thru the historic residential area, but while we were at dinner - River Room (another good one), the threatening weather was coming, so we hightailed it back to Catrina and now listening to the pounding rain.    The radar looks ugly!!!

Mark and I both recently finished reading "The Maltese Falcon" - good book and written in 1929!

Moving on tomorrow, but as always, another pleasant visit to Georgetown!
