Thursday - April 6

The rain started last evening and continued thru the night and till around 9 this morning.    Strong winds all day long....

We had hoped to have our friends from New Bern, Mark and Barbara drive over for lunch or dinner and a visit.    However.....they are vacationing in Europe (Amsterdam) and won't be home till late Sunday.    We did get to see them in  Fort Myers in February.

We've stopped the weight lifting for a while....my shoulder and Mark's wrist have been sore, so...concentrating more on the walking!

Good morning to catch up on computer stuff, tidy up Catrina, etc.   Mark borrowed a rental car from the marina and ran a few errands.    The sun came out about 11:30, but we showed winds at 35 mph with gusts at 50 mph,    Sounds like a big part of the country is having these strong winds and all kinds of other ugly stuff.

We walked downtown to the Beaufort Grocery Co. for lunch - fun place and good food.   But just walking around is a real struggle and Mark had me call him before I came on the dock (I did some more browsing) so he could help me - water is sloshing onto the very swaying docks!

The Crystal Coast Lady is a large tour boat (also does lunch and dinner) docked here in Beaufort across from us.   (3rd city we've been docked next to tour boats - Fort Myers,
Daytona Beach, and Beaufort).   3 school buses from near Charlotte brought children for a field trip - they were to take a ride out and possibly see the wild horses, dolphins and other wild life.    But not today with these crazy winds - they are hoping for tomorrow, but more of the same weather coming?     A few years ago we did the tour of the Crystal Coast Lady.

So we just stayed inside Catrina!   We played euchre (he won) and spades (I won).   Mark took a good nap, I wrapped Annette and Luke's birthday gifts and read.

Tonight we decided to "try" going for a walk as we've been sitting around all day; so we got off the boat and walked some, but.....whoaaa..still way too windy!
