Thursday - Friday, May 10-11

Update on our 2-day trip to Chicago......took the train with Barb, Roger, Kathy and Paul and had thee most perfect weather - clear blue skies, all sunshine and very pleasant temps.    We walked to our hotel "The Silversmith" and then set out for Millennium Park - walked around the beautiful gardens and soaked up this lovely park (Barb and Roger had never been there.)

Chicago does such an awesome job of planting flowers; check out these large hydrangeas.

Had delicious lunch at the Park Grill and walked along the waterfront past DuSable Marina and then along the Chicago River.    Bought tickets for tomorrow's architectural tour.   Went to "16" for drinks in The Trump Tower with magnificent view!

Back to hotel to freshen up, change clothes and off to dinner at Petterino's which was excellent followed by the musical, Jersey Boys,    This was my 3rd time to see it, Kathy's 2nd and first time for the rest - we all loved it and 3rd time around was better than ever!  Sooo many good oldies by Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons made famous so many years ago.
Another spectacular day on Friday - walked to Fox and Obel for breakfast (a favorite gourmet grocery/cafe of Kathy's and mine).   Then the architectural tour which lasted 75 minutes and was excellent as always.

Way down at the end...Roger, Barb, Paul, Kathy, Pat
riding the Ouilmette
Walked down Michigan Avenue, had a drink at Lizzie McNeil's Irish Pub and then back to the Silversmith to get our luggage.   Walked to South Branch for late lunch (very good), but while we were there, my niece Jennifer called and so very concerned about my sister-in-law, Linda (brother Bob's wife, Jennifer and Jason's Mom) who had bypass surgery this afternoon in Rockford.   Latest report is that she is in  ICU recovering from double bypass.

Walked to train station and on home....very enjoyable 2 days with good friends,
food and entertainment and weather!

HI Pa: Home from Davis's game. They won big time 17 to 2. He had three hits I think, hit in run and scored twice. They were running around the bases so fast I could not keep up!!!!! Drew went to golf course. He is really getting into his golf. His school team won their conference and went undefeated. He won all his matches also. They are outside on their new zip. They rigged this up to go across the creek. What will they think of next!!!!

I did not realize Linda was undergoing bypass surgery. Glad to hear she is doing good. Prayers and good thoughts for a speedy no complicated recovery.

Chat with you later. Glad you had a nice weekend with good weather, enjoyable friends and, of course, good food. Judy
