Thursday - March 12

Up at 3:00 AM today and off to the West Palm Beach airport with Philip, our chauffeur (what a guy)!    We flew United from West Palm to Houston and then to Palm Springs, CA.    First time to visit this lovely town surrounded by mountains and desert and oh-so-many lovely flowers.

Since our friend and former neighbor, Candy lives in Palm Springs, we called her and stopped in for a short visit but so wanted to see her new home (she moved last May).   She has a beautiful condo in thee most spectacular setting with fountains, waterfalls and flowers, flowers and more flowers!

We'll see Candy tomorrow and Saturday at the air show.

Arrived at the NAF Base at 2:15 - we met several other Blue Angel family members and sat atop high hay bales to watch the practice - how cool!   We were right by the runway and had the most fantastic view!    This area is known as the Imperial Valley with much agriculture.    And yes, there are stacks and stacks of hay bales all over!

Here comes #6 and we are waving as he comes in for a landing

Settled into our 2-bedroom house on base.

Met Ryan and we drove into El Centro (8 miles away) for delicious Italian dinner at Grassos'.

Early to bed tonight!    Been a long, but fun day!
