Friday - April 7

We ended up with 1/2" of rain last night!    This morning the humidity was at 97% so the heat is back on.   We did our walk, had breakfast and on with the day!

Jim and Lydia came to get my car at 11:45 and off to the airport for their flight to St. Louis.    Michael and Blair flew in around 1, picked up my car and onto Cypress Trail.   So good to see them.....we visited for a while and then gave them a little ride in the mini cricket (Aunt Joan and Uncle Joe's) around the park.

Welcome to Fort Myers!

Then we were off to Fort Myers Beach - first stopping at the Hyatt for Michael to check in,   After 6 months, still so sad with boats overturned and massive amounts of damage to homes, businesses, etc.    But since we were there a few weeks ago with Allie and Owen, definitely seeing progress.    Stopped at Junkanoo for a drink but they would only seat us if we were having lunch, so.....went upstairs and enjoyed happy hour at Fresh Catch with beautiful views and a nice server, Chris who is so happy and thankful to be back in business after the original Junkanoo and Fresh Catch were destroyed by Ian.    What remains on the former location of Junkanoo is now a huge mound of sand.

All the waiters/waitresses were wearing these shirts

Back on the road and by this time we were ready for dinner, so arrived at The Boathouse around 5:30.   Just a short wait for a table and Michael was able to watch the Masters on the big screen......but with 3 trees falling, wow.....play was suspended, so we'll see what tomorrow brings.    A miracle no one was injured from the looks of those uprooted trees.
Enjoyed our dinner and on back to Flo.   Sat on the patio (it had rained earlier but now really pleasant and much cooler.)
