Up at 7:30 and before we had breakfast or shopped or the bad weather started, Grandpa and the boys ventured outdoors to build a snowman.    The snow from last weekend was in perfect condition to roll snowballs and they quickly went at building ole Frosty...

Tah dah....the guys are proud of their Frosty and then it started to rain...

It rained all day and Frosty is starting to dwindle away.  The boys helped me make a batch of white chocolate popcorn, had lunch, took their naps, played and then we all went to 4:30 Mass.   Had planned to go to a party (boating friends), but the temperature is dropping and supposed to get some snow, strong winds and bitterly cold, so decided to stay put.

After supper, snacking, and talking to Mommy and Daddy, the boys are watching Frosty.   Mark and I got new phones recently (yesterday for me) so trying to learn all the bells and whistles and get with the times!

Friday, December 10

Busy Friday getting the boys off to school and then Mark and I went to Starbucks and several other errands.

 Picked Connor up at 11; home for lunch and then naptime.   I wrapped gifts and finished the cards.   Picked Liam up at 3, he took a nap and then we all got dressed up and went to Monical's for pizza...

Then we drove around town and looked at all the pretty Christmas lights.   And finally, saw the 9th annual production of "Holiday Spectacular" a wonderful musical extravaganza of many adults, teens and children singing and dancing along with the nativity part.    It was 2.5 hours of non-stop entertainment put on by talented members of the community and the boys were totally mesmerized by it all.

Off to bed at 10:30 with lots of good Christmas tunes and elves, angels, toy soldiers, Frosty, Santa and much more dancing in our heads!

Thursday, December 9

Big fat snowflakes are gently falling tonight....Liam and Connor are all tucked in and this Grandma is about ready to head in that direction, too!

Dad was admitted to the hospital early this morning.   After Anne and Patrick stopped by with the boys clothes, etc., I left for Mendota and spent the day with Dad.   He slept a lot, is on oxygen, steroids and antibiotics for the breathing,   Dr. talked to me at noon - he has COPD, but for now, he seems to be at a good comfort level.   Scary when he coughs, though!

I worked on my Christmas cards, read, and enjoyed the hospital Christmas luncheon (complimentary for employees and guests);  it was very good!  Santa and an elf stopped by and gave Dad some candy canes.  Bob and Linda came.  They had been at the hospital last evening till late.   Dad just slept away while we visited.    Bob noticed some snow flurries around 3....I left for home and Mark made blueberry pancakes and bacon for supper.   The boys thought that was neat having breakfast for supper and what good eaters they were!

Mark's Mom's surgery was successful today!   She is in the hospital tonight planning to come home tomorrow.

After baths, storytime and chat with Mommy and Daddy, they are off to dreamland!    Anne and Patrick are in Las Vegas till Sunday celebrating Anne's 40th (Sunday)!   Should be a win-win situation for all.....hoping they have a great time and we are sure looking forward to lots of fun with the boys.

Wednesday, December 8

Tonight, lots of worries as my Dad was taken to the hospital with breathing problems.  He's been having some health issues past week or so.....

I went to mass this morning- so many to pray for including our neighbor, Marty who had gallbladder surgery today and tomorrow, Mark's Mom is having surgery.    Had coffee (peppermint tea for me) with Anita and Colleen.    The mass was for Anita's husband, Russ who died in September.

Had lunch with Exchange Club and we were entertained by 3 gals who played the piano (all sat together at one piano and played their parts - very good)!   Spent the afternoon working on another fleece blanket for a friend (can't identify her as she reads this blog), wrapped a few gifts and worked on the cards.

Please say a prayer for my Dad and Mark's Mom for successful surgery!   Good night....

Tuesday, December 7

Lots of hustle and bustle going on today -  burrrr.....running around from car to stores, going here and there!  Not a day to dilly dally!    I cleaned the upstairs bedrooms and bath this morning and then took off with my list.   Got a lot accomplished and "almost" done with the shopping!    Met the boating friends for lunch at Biaggi's - always fun to catch up with these gals...

This afternoon Mark and I delivered all the baby items to Birthright from the Sublettians - they were sooo appreciative and sure gives all of us a warm fuzzy feeling knowing we'll be keeping those sweet little babies comfy and cozy all winter long!

Mark was my chauffeur and we ran a bunch more errands.   He went to 5:30 Mass for Feast of Immaculate Conception (tomorrow).    I will go to Mass in the morning.
