Thursday - September 10

What started out as a beautiful day really changed around 2:30 when the wind picked up and the rain came on strong!    The temperature dropped, too.... this came out of nowhere???

Other than the big weather change....here's how our day went.   I was up and on my way at 7:45 for appointment with Dr. Novotny (orthopedic guy).    When I checked in with the receptionist, she handed me a small I-pad and said to answer the questions and bring back when finished???    Last time I was there (4 weeks ago), I had filled out a bunch of paperwork, so ???    Well, starting today, all personal info, medications, family history, etc. are recorded (+ picture that I was able to take of myself - 3 tries till I was satisfied - ha) using mini I-pads.   I felt for the elderly couple nearby as she was getting frustrated with all this technology and the many questions.   They did have a rep walking around trying to help those who needed it.

So, then finally in to see the doctor - shoulder is recovering nicely and therapy will continue.    Also addressing the neck issues and he has orders in for the therapists to work on the neck starting tomorrow.    If the therapists can't help the neck (along with exercises I have specifically for it), I will see a neck specialist.    Here's hoping?

Stopped at Barnes and Noble for a Pumpkin Spice Latte (1st of the season) and then got a haircut.    I met Mark and Luke at Westminster Village and we had a nice visit with Donna Rae.    The guys stayed only 1/2 hour and Luke had had enough of the birds, balls, etc.    But Donna Rae and I yakked another 45 minutes and then time for her lunch and I was off to have lunch with Exchange Club.

Afternoon on Daisy with Luke sleeping away thru the heavy rain and when the weather radio came on, thought for sure it would wake him up but he was a goner!   Another 4 hour nap for our boy!

We met Roger, Barb and their granddaughters (Aubree, 6 and Lexi, 4) at Busy Corner.   Another good meal +++ pie, of course.   Aubree and Lexi were so sweet with Luke!

Wednesday - September 9

Beautiful day and so pleasant after all the heat!    We ended up with 2.3" of rain yesterday!
Very thankful as we sure needed it!

Leisurely morning with some walking around the park and checking out this 'n that...
Hanging out in my jammies playing games on my I-pod

and then fun at Kamp Komfort...

We had lunch at Busy Corner with Allie and Owen....so fun to be together again and enjoy lunch,
Luke and PIE, of course (Allie, Mark and I had coconut cream - delish and their #1 seller - Owen had pumpkin.)    Jane and Joe were to join us, but Jane is not feeling well with some sort of virus - sure missed them!!!

Back to Daisy and a short walk around the campground (Allie, Luke and me) and then nap time for Luke.   He slept from at 1:30 to 5:10

Taking a bath on Daisy is fun!

Philip, Annette and friends have arrived safely in Anchorage!
Let the fun begin...

Liam and Connor had their first practice tonight - the new hockey season is just around the corner!!

Tuesday - September 8

Luke is on Daisy and the fun has begun!    Mark and I left this morning with a stop at Busy Corner to get a piece of cherry pie (Philip's very favorite) to go and an early birthday treat!

We met the kids at Route 18 in the parking lot of Bullshead Inn where we've enjoyed many a good meal meeting my parents, brothers and families over the years - usually celebrating a birthday or anniversary!    We transferred all of Luke's paraphernalia and Philip and Annette were on their way.   And then doggone.................there sat Philip's pie in our car!    Arghhhhh!!!!

We got back to Daisy with very threatening skies - whoaaaa.....just made it when the heavens opened up BIG time.   Had lunch and then Luke went down for a nap as the rain came pounding down.   I left at 2:00 for town and therapy with Lee.    He did several measurements and was very pleased with how I'm doing, but not quite done with me yet!    So....also addressed the neck issue which is constantly achy.    He gave me more exercises to do and I see Dr. Novotny on Thursday.    In between trips e have coming up, I am scheduled for 7 more sessions + traction (not exactly sure what that is, but receptionist said "it will feel sooo good"! )

It rained the entire time I was in therapy and at the grocery store and finally stopped when I was almost back to Daisy.

Grandpa and Luke went for a stroll while I made BLT's for supper.   Lots to see here or just out of Daisy's windows - all the traffic on I-74 and the RV's and campers coming and going in and out of
Kamp Komfort.

After we ate, we 3 walked around the park.   Luke gets excited when Daisy is in sight, claps his hands and says "Daisy"....(I imagine him thinking "we're home"!!!)

Sitting on the big rock right by Daisy!

Philip, Annette and friends are off to Alaska tomorrow.
Bon voyage, safe travels and have a ton of fun in that spectacular part of our USA!

Labor day - 2015

Happy Labor Day and hope wherever you are and whatever you did, it was a fun, relaxing day!

God Bless America

We slept in this morning and then got to work spiffing up and cleaning Daisy for our little guest arriving tomorrow.    Luke is coming!!!    Luke is coming!!!

After lunch we went into town and stopped at Anne and Patrick's for a short visit (always enjoy those hugs from Liam and Connor).   Went to the storage unit and put a bunch of stuff away.    Then to get groceries, iced coffees at Starbucks and back to Daisy.

Miss Blair did face time with us and also saw Drew and Brady!

Mark grilled cheeseburgers and had a nice little picnic on our patio - last hurrah for summer!

Walked around the park!   Rainy days are coming!

Saturday-Sunday - September 5-6

We arrived back on Daisy around 5:15 after a fun family weekend.

We left Kamp Komfort at 9:30 Saturday morning heading to Rockford.    Had some very heavy rain to drive thru, but luckily, didn't last too long.    Had lunch at Steak 'n Shake and then able to check into our room at the Courtyard Marriott and change into our wedding attire.    Beautiful wedding of our niece, Bridget (Mark's sister, Janet and Mike's daughter) to Adam.   Lots of family there, including our Anne and Annette.   Her parents are keeping Liam, Connor and Luke.
 Philip and Patrick are working.

After the wedding, Mark and I went to St. Rita's for 4:30 Mass and so fun to run into my cousins.   Good chatting with them outside church and then we were off to the reception at the Rockford Brewing Company on the Rock River.

Cousins and sisters
Mary Sue, Pat, Judy

Lots of wine and beer, salad and assorted pizza, plus many different pies, cheesecakes, cookies, etc., were the wedding fare.   Dancing, visiting and a good time was had by all!

Adam and Bridget

Sunday morning we visited with family in the hotel lobby.....said our goodbyes and off to Sublette.   Put a basket of fall flowers on my parents' graves and then to Cindy's in Mendota to meet Bob and Linda, their daughter, Jennifer and her daughter, Leia for breakfast and visit.

Then to see my Aunt Marian at Stonecroft and onto visit my cousin, Jim at the Lutheran Home.    Came  home thru the country and stopped in Eureka at "Uncle Bob's" homemade ice cream....YUMMY!    Definitely going back here!

Walked around the park - one more hot day coming tomorrow (last hurrah of Summer)!
Enjoy your Labor Day!
