Thursday - September 12

Very happy and thankful to report that Patrick's surgery (3 hours) was successful - removal of his colon except for 6".    He will be in the hospital 3-5 days.    Mark and I will hold down the fort here with the boys.

I took Connor to school and then off to Mendota and drove thru very heavy rain....yikes, wasn't predicted, but a real gully washer.   Stopped at Bob and Linda's and visited till time to go to Sublette for my cousin Jim's funeral.   Very nice Mass and excellent homily by Father Randy making it all about Jim and his strong faith, many friends and always upbeat with a remarkable memory.    Despite his many challenges, Jim always had a smile.

You will be missed, Jim

After a wonderful brunch and great visits with many relatives and friends, I was on my way back to Bloomington.      Before the game, there was a little program honoring the 8th graders on the team and their parents who were presented with a yellow rose and had pictures taken.   "Grandma" filled in for missing Mom and Dad.    And then the Corpus Christi Saints went on to win 10-6.

Mark was near Flint, MI last night (terrible storms) and got the hitch checked over by manufacturer this morning.    He had a long drive and awful traffic but arrived at Kamp Komfort late this afternoon.    He arrived at the ballpark with Connor batting with the bases loaded.    Connor hit it to shortstop who bobbled the ball and run scored, bases still loaded.....exciting!!

We're staying in town with the boys and more baseball and hockey coming thru the weekend!
