Thursday - September 5

Gorgeous day - 73 and all sunshine.    We had breakfast (thee most wonderful "apple fritter" bread (toasted) and fresh nectarines and peaches - THANK YOU, Wegman's!!!    Mark took me to get a mani/pedi and then I walked to Eclipz and Jen gave me a much-needed haircut.   Enjoyed all this pampering!    Then Mark picked me up at 11:45 and we had another great lunch at the Brewerton Diner.

Back to EssKay, got Catrina and Mark cruised on down to Winter Harbor where I met him in Big Red.    I was there to meet him, tie up and then thought we would be back in the morning for the lift out.    Leslie told us if we were ready, they could take us out this afternoon, power wash and put away!   WOW....yes, let's do it!     So, Catrina is inside and all is good - we'll stop by tomorrow just to put out the damp rid, bug fog, etc.    In between, while they were doing the power wash, we went to Arctic King for some yummy ice cream treats.

Back to EssKay to settle our bill and then got to Oneida Shores and Flo around 3:30.     Mark walked over to the big city park where they were weighing in the fish caught today in the Bassmasters tournament.

Okay.....this is quite something and they have these tournaments at several locations around the country.    The latest tally is that 28 states and 4 countries (including 2 from Europe, Japan and Canada) are represented.     There are 180 boats with their angler and co-angler in each boat.    Mark woke up this morning to the Star Spangled Banner starting the official start (been practicing all week).   The boats with their angler and co-angler go out in increments of 18 boats every 15 minutes.   They can catch only 6 and then after the time is up (8 hours) they come in and weigh their fish (if they should get 6 fish right away - (not normal), they would keep fishing cause it's all about weight.   It was broadcast over TV.....I walked over later to see the last of the weigh-in for today.

After tomorrow, they will pick the top 25 (by most weight of caught fish) and they will fish Saturday and Sunday with each of these 25 (anglers and co-anglers) knowing they will be part of the winnings....top prize - $50,000.    It is a BIG deal and just amazed at all these guys - our RV park is full, all the hotels/motels, etc.     Great revenue for Brewerton.
