It's All Saints Day and 49 years ago today, my Grandpa John passed away - 11/1/75. I remember that day so well.
I played euchre (Friday morning group which had been ladies, but now opening to the guys). Started out with just 3 of us - Anita, Judy and myself, so we played 3-handed which was new for them but a fun variation. Anita had to leave, but Cindy and Todd (newbies to the park from Colorado) came to play. Todd and I beat Judy and Cindy. Then Judy had to leave, so the CO folks wanted to learn 3-handed, so that's what we did (I won). So much fun playing and explaining 2-handed, 3 handed, 4 handed, 5 handed and 6 handed! All different but unique!
Anita and her husband Jim are full-time RVers and were in Asheville when Helene hit. They had to evacuate at 3 AM and their campground was heavily damaged along with all but 3 RV's. Their home was totaled....what a story she had to tell.
I walked home and met Mark and we went to Buckingham Farms for delicious lunch - this is my very favorite for breakfast/lunch. Mark had a patty melt with broccoli salad and I had the special - salmon Caesar salad. Both winners!
On home and stayed inside Flo - got to 88 sunny degrees today.
We took another "warm" walk in the afternoon, then supper and onto 7:00 Mass for the Feast of All Saints at St. Vincent de Paul with Father Murchadh O'Madagain (wonderful young Irish pastor).
Last night Philip and family were visiting friends in Georgia, but Luke and friend, Jack had fevers, so not able to trick or treat! 😩
