Labor Day - 9/1/14

Whew wee..................this has to be our hottest day yet.    After the rain early this morning, the sun came out and it was beastly, stifling, close (a favorite of my Dad's), suffocating, etc., etc......!    Ha....racking the brain for more adjectives!   We were so lucky with the weather on the Potomac and today, thankful for the AC.     Mark checked the weather - 105 with the heat index (just like the Midwest last week).

Enough about the weather.    We exercised and just enjoyed a quiet, relaxing day on Catrina.   It is a holiday, ya know!     Mark went for a "short" bike ride checking out to see what the road conditions were to ride into Ridge.    Didn't take him long to come back and say it wasn't going to happen.    Narrow roads with no bike path and cars whizzing by!   Not our thing.   I worked on and pretty much wrapped up talk/slide show I'm doing for PEO (October) and Exchange Club (December) from our Windstar cruise to Spain.   Did a load of laundry in the afternoon and finished a very good book
 "The Invention of Wings"!

We did face time with Luke this morning and with Liam and Connor this afternoon - busy little boys!

2 months ago today we put our house on the market - very little activity despite having 3 open houses and open house/luncheon for realtors.    Maybe it just wasn't meant to be - or folks aren't shopping for an older home?

Mark grilled out brats tonight and along with a salad, made for a great holiday supper!

Nice to have a "down" day.    Tomorrow we'll be on our way again....less than 10 miles left on the Potomac and then back on Chesapeake Bay.
