Sunday - September 7

BEAUTIFUL Sunday in Havre de Grace.    After some storms last night, the air is so fresh without that awful heat 'n humidity!   We rode our bikes to 8:00 Mass at St. Patrick's and then to a favorite spot downtown, The Concord Point Coffee Co. (3rd visit and this time....hot coffee versus the iced drinks from past 2 days).    Had some delicious cinnamon coffee cake, too.    Rode bikes around town in some new areas.    We decided to stay another day here and just relaxing and enjoying the fresh breeze with all the windows open and AC turned OFF.

So sad to hear that my good friend, Brenda lost her Mother early this morning.     She had a massive stroke Friday evening.    Really glad Pat and Brenda were with her in Texas.

This afternoon we had one of those "memorable" lunches...wow!    We walked downtown to The Vineyard Wine Bar and Bistro which was rated the #1 restaurant by Trip Advisor.   We had walked past it several times.   So we sat in the little courtyard (very private with pretty flowers and fountains.)    This is a tapas place and we shared a wonderful watermelon/gorgonzola layered salad, the black 'n bleu flatbread pizza and turkey/cranberry wrap.   Everything + the wine were delicious!!!   And then the last hurrah......dessert!   Mark had the chocolate flourless cake with fresh fruit and I had wine-infused ice cream with bits of dark chocolate and a few dark cherries!
 my oh my!
This place was over the top and weather was perfect!

As our waiter, Scott said "yesterday felt like July - today, it's October"!    Love it!!

One final spin around town on our bikes early evening.....they have neat paved alleys that go on and on (they call them lanes) which make for good riding.

Tomorrow we'll be on our way again...
