Saturday - September 6

HOT 'n HUMID today and so looking forward to relief coming our way tomorrow and thru next week!!!     We exercised and Mark rode his bike to get a haircut.    I joined him downtown and we did the Farmer's Market, stopped at Concord Point for iced coffees (neat old building with high tin ceilings, rough wood floors, etc.)    Rode bikes around town and did part of the Lafayette Trail, but it was so hot!!!    Stopped at The Promenade which is a little walk-up food stand by the marina and shared a burger and grilled squash back on Catrina.    Later we walked the Boardwalk (3/4 mile) along the water.

This town suffered significant damage on this date (May 3, 1813)

The Concord Point Lighthouse where Chesapeake Bay meets the Susquehanna River

We left for downtown (on foot) and wow....the front had come thru and the air felt soo much better than earlier today!   Had a wonderful dinner at Laurrapin (an Appalachian or southern term meaning tasty po folk food).    Twice while we were there, we heard other diners refer to ordering an "appi"???    Short for appetizer?    Never heard that one!

We took our umbrellas and it started drizzling when we were walking back to Catrina and then got heavier with thunder and lightning.    Sooo glad to be back home and watching radar as storms are a'comin!
