Friday – I
was up early and off for my 7:30 therapy with Jim. Boy, my neck got a very rigorous stretching….whew!! May end up an ostrich before all this is
over!
Stopped for a Starbucks
treat and then to the meat market for some good treats (brats, steaks, pork
chops, hot dogs and burgers) to enjoy this weekend. Back to Daisy and around 11:30 we left for
Hickory Hills (30-minute drive). This
place is MUCH larger than Kamp Komfort.
Mark and I walked around the campground – lots of good hiking and the
trees were very pretty. Although we had some light rain earlier (and
more coming tonight and tomorrow), it was a nice afternoon!
Well, my name is certainly
in the news…..”Patricia”….the strongest and most powerful hurricane ever???
Happy to report “Terraphobic”,
Ryan’s new boat has arrived safely in Pensacola.
Hats off to the Captain
(Philip), Mike and Theresa (Mark’s sister) and Philip’s friend, Jeff for the
safe delivery. Ryan in in Jacksonville
this weekend so won’t see his new home till Sunday night!
The guys had a nice fire
going and then the rain came. The boys
got their hot dogs roasted just in time and Mark grilled brats for the rest of
us. After our yummy supper, we played
golf and blitz.
Saturday – rainy
off and on and windy. Had a big
breakfast of pancakes, sausages and blueberries on Elsie and then the boys,
Anne and I played mini golf and the boys played a round of shuffleboard. Patrick went into town for about 2 hours to
play at the St. Mary’s Chili Cook-off.
Played rummikube in the afternoon, Grandpa got a good fire started, Anne
and I went for a walk and the boys played wiffle ball. We all went to 4:00 Mass at St. Joseph’s in
Roanoke and then back to the campground and enjoyed a roaring fire, grilled steaks,
visiting and country music coming from our neighbors. Then indoors for a rousing game of dominoes
won by Connor! FUN day….
Elsie and Daisy are neighbors for the 1st time
Mini golf won by Liam
Gorgeous tree near the church
+ 2 munchkins
Relaxing 'round the fire
Connor ends up the domino king!
Sunday –
this is what a picture-perfect fall day is like with brilliant blue skies and
the fall color that has exploded! We
enjoyed another great breakfast of pancakes, bacon and cinnamon rolls on
Elsie. Cleaned up and off to the boys
hockey game in town which they won 6-3.
Great game and both boys scored a goal! Back to Hickory Hills where we had lunch
(grilled rib eye and pork chop sandwiches.)
The guys played one final game of shuffleboard and then broke down our
campsites, said our good-byes with hugs and a promise to make this a yearly
tradition. We arrived back at Kamp
Komfort at 4:45. What a delightful
weekend!!!
