Monday - October 8

Whoaaa....summer has returned to Virginia with a high of 87 today!    We had some fog when we left Woodland at 9.    Mostly gloomy and very overcast most of the morning, but around noon, the sun came out and heated up with blue skies and puffy clouds!

We traveled 210 miles thru PA, MD, WV and VA.  We stopped in Winchester, VA for lunch at Applebees and arrived in Luray (LooRay), VA around 3.   It was a beautiful drive with the mountains and rolling hills.    The KOA Campground where we plan to stay till Wednesday is in a gorgeous setting in the Shenandoah Valley with mountains surrounding us.    We have a cornfield right next to us and a nice patio area with 2 red Andirondack chairs, umbrella, wrought iron tables and chairs.    No sign of fall here  - leaves and grass are oh-so-green!!!

We walked around this pretty park late afternoon - there are 5 Airstreams here and we chatted with a lady outside her Airstream from Bath, Maine.    We were there just a week ago or so.     This morning there was another Airstream in the park and while this lady was walking her dog, she met the owner......the Secretary of the Navy!!!!

We had our wine, cheese and crackers on our patio tonight....sooo pleasant out!

Mark is ready for Happy Hour - nice fire pit in front and corn fields in our back yard!
