Thursday - October 11

Rain, rain, so much rain since yesterday from "Michael"...but watching the devastation from Florida's Panhandle is heartbreaking, so what's some rain for us.    We also lost power sometime during the night and it never did come back on.   We thought it was the entire campground, but apparently just one row.   Our phones went off earlier with another flash flood warning.

Mark went out this morning and brought back coffee and donuts from Love's Truck Stop.    We just hunkered down with our books/I-pad and the rain just kept pounding down.    Around 11:30 Mark was getting antsy so we left for lunch at Cinco de Mayo (not many choices in Max Meadows).    It was nothing special....but good to get out.    Mark filled Big Red up with diesel and just driving around a bit, saw all the over-the-bank creeks and rivers.    Lots of water standing here in the campground and part of Flo was surrounded by water.

The manager here at Pioneer Village suggested we move to a site that had power, so in the rain, we did just that!   UGH.....but we are now settled and enjoying our electricity!   Now we  watch TV and see the horrific devastation for the Floridians and what's to come with more flooding for North Carolina?    Prayers for the victims, their families and oh-so-many affected by this devastation...

5 weeks ago yesterday we started our "fall foliage" trip with Flo - ending it all now with effects from Michael, but so blessed with overall good weather.   Stayed in 15 RV parks/campgrounds and my favorites would be Swan Bay Resort, Alexandria Bay, NY; Lake George, NY; Normandy Farms, Foxboro, MA and Luray KOA, VA.

The rain finally stopped at 3:30 and had a little bit of sun peeking thru at 6:30.

Tomorrow we are off to Lake James and see this little Miss, but for now???
She's having some deep thoughts!
