Saturday - June 12

Cool and cloudy as we walked to Fair Pour for our morning fix.    Like this coffee shop and whatever we've had in the past, including their "Sammies" (breakfast sandwiches) which are very good.    We walked back to Catrina, visited with 2 couples with 2 big dogs vacationing this week on one of the canal boats.    They are from the Albany area and told us to check out the Farmers Market, so took our coffees and walked a short jaunt to a very nice FM with oodles of fresh baked goods, produce, candies, flowers, crafts and much more.    We got some tomatoes and a small cherry pie (for Mark).   Sooo many temptations for we nomads but we held back (actually Mark held me back)!   Ha...The sun came out and it was another very pretty day here in Fairport.

Back to Catrina where I made my version of "Sammies" (ham/egg/cheese on English muffins).    While Mark worked on getting reservations for Cedar Point when Luke and Blair are with us, I walked around this charming village and took several pics....

Obviously this little girl has not been vaccinated as she's still wearing her mask

 11-13!   Can't wait....

Mark walked in the afternoon and just enjoyed some "down" time.

We walked (10 minutes) to 4:00 Mass at Church of the Assumption.   This is the church where Brian and Emma were married and their 3 boys baptized.  They had a priest filling in (Father Matthew Walker) and will be getting a new pastor soon.    We told John about the new pastor and I happened to mention his name....Father Mickey McGrath.     John is a retired doctor and said Father McGrath was a former patient!     What a spectacular day and evening - 70's, sunny, nice breeze.

John and Lucas arrived with bags, cooler and lots of good stuff from Dinosaur BBQ.   Michael had told us there were 2 really good BBQ places in Rochester (Sticky Lips and Dinosaur) from when he's traveled there.    Tonight John treated us to pulled pork, brisket, ribs and chicken + cole slaw, baked beans, collard greens and cornbread - oh my..............................wonderful, wonderful.   We sat upstairs on the bridge and devoured (plenty of leftovers) this great food.   John also brought margaritas, ice, limes, salt, glasses, etc.     The perfect guests!!!

Sweet Lucas who says he's 6 3/4 (bday is July 1st)
Emma, (Lucas's Mom's cousin's husband) is head baseball coach at Iowa

Captain Mark and Lucas went for a dinghy ride afterwards and got ice cream.    And later, Jeff (John's son and a 3rd year medical student at the University of New England) arrived and we had plenty to feed him and a fun visit.   Totally awesome day and evening.

Lucas and Captain Mark just chillin' on Catrina's bow
Great fun with these guys tonight...
