We said or good byes to Chris, Hal and Paul at 7:30 and then departed Ess Kay and Brewerton at 7:30 AM.
We soon meet up with traveling buddies who came out of Winter Harbor - "Northern Lights" from Sandusky, OH and "Everything is Cool" from Long Island Beach, NY. We were together all day with Northern Lights in the lead for 4 hours till we passed them crossing Cross Lake.
It was a good day of travel with 70 miles, 4 locks and many bridges under our belts. Some of those bridges were a bit precarious as to whether we could pass under safely, but Catrina did fine (yesterday, we had lowered our radar mast and VHF antenna). They will remain down till we finish the Eric Canal (total of 13 locks).
We started the day with lots of clouds and very overcast with 72 degrees. We had some sun later in the day and in one of the locks, was really HOT, but overall, a very nice day on the water.
"Northern Lights" and "Everything is Cool" were our traveling buddies till we ended the day in Lyons and tied Catrina up to the wall. Waved good bye and maybe we'll see them again along the way.
The Pour House here at Lyons was a perfect stopping point at 5 PM - we were tired, hot and ready to end the day, While Catrina's AC kicked in, we walked to The Pour House for some adult beverages and an appetizer and met some of the locals including Bob and Kathy who live just a few blocks away and natives of Lyons. This is what cruising is all about - meeting new folks along the way and everyone so welcoming that you are in their neck of the woods!
