Monday - September 13

We had a much shorter day to get to Kamp Komfort, so didn't plan to be in a big rush.    We both went to bed early and had a great night's sleep; but things changed when we woke up around 5:30 and it was raining.    We checked radar and oh my.............the north and west were nasty looking and so.......scurried around stowing our things and got the heck outta there leaving around 6:45.    The sky looked ominous and we hoped to outrun the storm (green, yellow, brown and RED)!

We had some occasional showers but the worst was behind us    We stopped at Cracker Barrel in Rockford and had to dig out our masks which we've not worn in months, but that's the IL rule for indoors.   And we were finally in the clear with the weather!

On home to KK and so good to be back in the country.    When we left in May, the corn was just starting to peak thru the ground and now it's almost harvest time.    We've covered a lot of tracks (road and water) since then.

We have a new spot here at KK....#62 which is very long and all 3 vehicles can fit!    Micci greeted me and welcomed us back.   It's been a good and very busy summer (turning folks away cause they were full) with more and more RV's/campers out there

After we were settled I was rearranging stuff in the car, vacuuming, etc., and we met our neighbors, Dave and Gwen   When we pulled in, we noticed they were from FL.................would you believe their home is Cypress Trail?   AND, when they became full-timers, they sold their home in Blue Ridge, GA (that charming little town we stopped at when we left Fort Myers in the spring).    Also where Gary and Josh (Cypress Trail neighbors) have their 2 nice shops.    Small world!

I went into town late this afternoon and had a short but sweet visit with Anne and boys + Gibson and met Frankie for the first time.    They are all doing well!

The Campbell Clan

I met the Monday Night Friends at Connie's - we had a housewarming party welcoming her in her new condo.   So fun to be with these gals with lots of laughs, some tears, great food (Mandarin Garden), wine, etc.

Missing Ruth and Sue

So, KK will be Flo's home till October 14th, but we nomads will be gone a big chunk of that time (especially me)!    The next month is a lot of go go go including out-of-state travel to MO, AZ, and IA.

The FedEx package (Big Red's bed cover) is still missing.    The company in Missouri will be sending another one to KK.

Brother Bob update.....after blood work and x-rays, Dr. is not sure what is going on with Bob's foot.   It is still swollen and he's to go back next week.    Taking an inflammatory drug and maybe feels a little better?
