Monday-Tuesday, March 6-7

Day 3 - We had a light breakfast and then Bob, Linda, Mark and I were off to Tarpon Springs.    This has become a yearly tradition to drive here for a day of shopping (Linda and me) and great eating.    The guys sat on a bench in the shade and Linda and I hit the shops - this town has a legacy of Greek sponge divers who came to settle here in the early  1900's.   Sponges are sold everywhere and also known for their great Greek food!

Met the guys at Hellas for wonderful lunch (always eat here and share their Greek salad and each of us enjoy a gyro) ----soooo awesome!    The connecting bakery is off the charts with beautiful concoctions.   We picked up a bunch of desserts to take back to Lakeland.

Stopped at Costco in Wesley Chapel for a few things and on home.    Another stop at friends of Bob and Linda's who were in their driveway with more friends enjoying happy hour.    Good to see some of these folks we've known for awhile.

Ron and Vicki came for dinner - BBQ pulled pork, potato salad, macaroni salad, baked beans and our fabulous desserts!

Big day and all ready for bed - we'll be together again on Wednesday in Daytona Beach.

Day 4 - we left Bob and Linda's around 8:20 after breakfast heading to New Smyrna Beach across the state.    We took the back roads avoiding I-4    Stopped in Tavares for coffee at The Nautilus (funky cute shop).    On to New Smyrna and the Grille at Riverside along the water.....met friends Arnie and Fay from Sterling, IL (winter in New Smyrna) and Joe and Joan (Mark's sister) who came from Arcadia (also from Sterling).    Arnie was Mark and Joan's Dad's hired hand from 1951-1955 (when he was 14-18).    Oh my, the stories he told helping on the farm - we laughed and so enjoyed these 2-hours together as they reminisced about "way back when".    Arnie and Fay are a very "young" 86 and married 11 years before us.    They have 5 kids, 18 grands and 27 great grands.     Absolutely delightful couple!    We were also with them in '09, '11 and '13.    So, 10 years ago but definitely need to connect much sooner next time.    Lunch was great, too!

Said our good byes after pics and Mark and I drove 20 miles to our hotel room in Daytona Beach - this is Bike Week and oh my, motorcycles are EVERYWHERE!!!

We walked across the parking lot to Bahama Breeze for drinks, appetizer and dessert (Mark).  We sat outside and the noise level was something with the roar of all those motorcycles flying by the International Speedway.

Stopped at Dillards (also close by) as I'm just starting the hunt for a dress for our nephew's wedding in May.    No luck tonight!
