Saturday-Sunday, March 4-5

Day 1 - Our whirlwind trip started at 7:45 when we were off to Arcadia and delivered 2 jars of caramel pecans to Mark's sister Joan and Joe that we had picked up from Costco.    A quick hi and bye and we were off to Lake Wales where we met friends Butch and Joyce (fellow RVers from Champaign, IL).

We met in the parking lot of the Bok Tower Gardens (had heard about this place), but wow....so much beauty in this 70-acre park.   We meandered around and thru the park on this lovely Saturday oohing and aahing at all the flowers.   I took so many pictures but here are a few...the azaelas were soooo gorgeous from white to pale pink to deep pink.

We ate lunch at the Blue Palmetto Cafe - delicious and lots of people out and about
We walked around a bit more after lunch and came across the children's park - wow....wonderful place for the kiddies.

Then we left the park and drove a short jaunt to Spook Hill....interesting drive and we highly recommend checking out these 2 places

Very unique drive!

We left for The Ranch (Coffeehouse and wine/beer tap) - fun place in downtown Lake Wales where we met for coffee a year ago.    More visiting and then time to say good bye  We hope to see them in May at Kamp Komfort.

Mark and I drove to Lakeland and 4:00 Mass at Resurrection Church.    Then to Bob and Linda's - Ron and Vicki came over and we sat on the patio visiting with cold drinks.    Linda made a delicious taco salad with all the toppings.    Fun first day!

Day 2.....we 6 had breakfast at Frescos downtown (favorite from other visits) - had not been here for brunch/breakfast and it was excellent.   Such a neat atmosphere in an old building.

Linda and I went to Town Coast Mall for some shopping and then back to Vicki's for Rummikube.   I was the winner - lots of fun enjoying snacks and visiting.    Vicki had a really good casserole, brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce for super topped off with coconut cake.    Back to Bob and Linda's - hot day and good times with family!

Enjoy the week ahead!
