Tuesday - March 5

The day started out sunny with bright blue skies......we exercised and around 10, the clouds rolled in, the wind picked up and the temperature dropped!!!     We left for Venice to meet friends for lunch - had misty rain along the way.    Ugh!     What a big change in the weather but nothing compared to what so many others are dealing with.

Met Lee and Tamara at Fins - an excellent lunch and great visit.    We had not seen them since February, 2018, so lots to yak about!

Walked a short distance on the pier - (we wimped out going all the way with the wind and chilly conditions).     Everyone bundled up with jackets, jeans, etc.   Said our good byes, but planning to get together in Bloomington in May.

Stopped at Babcock Farms (near Punta Gorda) on our way back to see what it's all about.    Mark's sister Marilyn is coming in a few weeks and thought we would take her on this tour, have lunch, etc.    Heard about this place for so many years, so time to check it out!!!

Got back to Flo around 5:15, had a light supper and then off to play euchre.   However, no euchre tonight as the big Mardi Gras party was happening here in the park.   So.....Jim and Lydia came to Flo and we had lots of fun playing euchre and Pass the Trash.

Monday - March 4

Early start to this Monday.....we were getting Flo ready to travel and at 7:45 she and Mark were off to North Trail RV Center for last of the warranty work (had to order a few parts).    I stayed in the she shed and did some laundry and then went to get a mani-pedi.

Mark and Flo were back and settled in by 1:00.    We left around 3 to run some errands and then met friends (State Farm folks) at Herb and Dana's condo on Fort Myers Beach.    So good to see them....the others arrived and then we were off walking to Fish Tales for delicious dinner - we had a big round table outdoors and just a delightful evening.

Walked back to the condo, played "Pass the Trash" and LCR (Left, Right, Center)!    Lots of fun.   I won Pass the Trash, with Vince and Mary winning LCR.    Dana served a great peach or cherry pastry with ice cream.    Good time was had by all!

Sunday - March 3

Sunshiny Sunday in the 80's.    We went to 9:30 Mass at St. Francis, then to Publix and finally the Rebel Coffee Cafe.    On home and got some laundry done, rode bikes and visited with Jim and Lydia.    They got their new gazebo installed yesterday....very nice with a wonderful breeze sitting underneath on their new patio furniture!!!

John and Beth arrived around 4.   They had been to the Red Sox/Twins ball game.   So good to see them and finally show off our she shed which they had been our advocates for when we were gone - dealing with contractor, sub contractors, paver people, etc., etc.   They are the best!!!!

We sat on the patio for a short time and then headed off to the Boathouse - didn't have too long a wait and enjoyed a great dinner, fun atmosphere and of course, catching up with these dear friends!

9 years ago today was out accident in St. Petersburg getting hit by car as we were crossing the street.  Shoulder is good!!!    So blessed!

Today would've been Mark's Mom's 93rd birthday!     Happy Birthday, Mom.   We sure miss you!

Saturday - March 2

Really got hot today with lots of sunshine!    We met Bob and Linda at their hotel at 9 and we girls drove in one car and the guys in another.    Went to Punta Gorda to see cousin Denny and Deb at their condo.   Deb had made a delicious coffee cake and we enjoyed that with coffee and then we girls were off to Fisherman's Village for Day 3 of our little shopping marathon.    It's been at least 3 years since I've shopped there and Linda had never been.   So....we had fun and always good to be with Deb.

Met the guys at 11:30 at Captain's Table overlooking the Peace River.....excellent lunch with lobster chowder and lobster grilled cheese!!!!!

We met the guys back at Denny and Deb's condo and then said our good byes and on our way by 3:30.   Such a fun day!!!

 Home to Flo and said more good byes to Nancy and John, our neighbors who start for home (Michigan) tomorrow.

Tonight we went to a potluck with 5 other couples (all Airstream owners here in the park).    It was so much fun at John Mark and Cindy's tiki - beautiful landscaping and perfect place to entertain!    Lots of good food and chatter.

Friday - March 1

March arrived in wonderful Florida fashion.....warm and sunny!    We picked Bob and Linda up from their hotel and off to Buckingham Farms where we had another wonderful breakfast.    Linda and I left for shopping - day 2 and the guys were off to tour the Edison Ford museum and then to the flea market.

Linda and I shopped at Victoria in Bonita Springs, Santini Plaza on Fort Myers Beach and then Dillards at Coconut Point Mall.    We took a break while at Santini Plaza to enjoy some delicious bloody Mary's and grouper bites.    It was a very fun day!

Back to Flo and Mark and Bob were visiting on the patio with our neighbors, John and Nancy.   We all sat and chatted and then Linda and I showed Nancy some of our purchases.    We will miss them as they are off on Sunday heading home to Michigan.

Bob, Linda and we went to the Boathouse for dinner.....it was packed and we had an hour wait, but beautiful evening to sit by the pool.    Great dinner, music and just a super end to a very fun day!    Linda and I are certainly doing "our" part in boosting the economy!
