HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA

PROUD to be an American!!!

Happy 4th of July to all!    It's another picture-perfect day in the weather department - temps in the 70's-low 80's and gorgeous cerulean skies.   After breakfast and exercising, Mark took off on his bike to Wal-Mart and rewarded himself after this long trek (he deserved it) wth a donut/coffee at Tim Horton's.    We love this Canada fast-food donut place (similar to our Dunkin' Donuts, but much broader menu)!

I spent several hours working on the photo book for Lake James vacation....time consuming, but fun!

After lunch, I walked "dowtown",
browsed the shops, bought some stamps at the post office (costs $1.03 + tax = $1.16 to send first-class letter back to the states) and found a yummy bakery with butter tarts (a wonderful Canadian pastry).  Lots of folks out and about this pretty day....

Bobby Orr, the professional hockey star from Canada has his "Hall of Fame" and a recreation center named after him in Parry Sound.   Also this interesting cage to transport bears?
Bear cage
Bay Street and lush flowers where we ate last night

We biked on the fitness trail along Parry Sound and also along the Seguin River
Seguin River
Neat murals painted on the bridge by children
Very high (and busy) railroad
Pretty sailboats with their spinnakers on Parry Sound

Thinking back to 1 year ago when we were in St. Louis - Ryan did his flyover at Busch Stadium on 7/3/10.
What a proud, awesome moment that was!
Had very good dinner here tonight

We'll miss the fireworks, but glad we got to enjoy Canada's - hope you've all had a great day celebrating       the good ole USA

Pat: Happy 4th to you and Mark too. Spent Sunday and Monday at the Lake. Great weather, but hot and humid with very little breeze. Today was cut a little short due to a thunder storm aproaching. Good times had by all. Brady and Cooper are spending the week with Bob and I. Brooke and I are taking them to Tweetsie on Wed. and Bob will go to the golf course with the D's. They are really into the golf this Summer. Oh by the way, we love Tim Horton's too. Been to a lot of those on pit travels in Canada. Good wishes for your continued travels in Canada and down the East Coast. JudyB
