Yeah.............we have completed the Trent-Severn Waterway in 9 days with 43 locks, 240 miles and so much beauty "locked" away making for very special memories!    We did 12 locks and 31 miles in 7 hours today!    Should've opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate, but don't have any on board, so ice cream treats tasted even better!

It was a gorgeous day with blue skies and big puffy clouds and much calmer than yesterday.    We are in Trenton and planning to stay here for 2 days!   Walked downtown and checked out the area a bit.

Here's what we saw along the way today...

Very marshy area along the Trent River
Hilly areas after lots of flat terrain
An osprey in his nest

For the most part, the lockmasters and lock staff were friendly, helpful and just very pleasant to chat with - we remember only 3 who must've been having a bad day???
Lockmaster and college student - 2 of the good ones!!!   Quick picture as we were going down.
The Trenton Lock - #1 as you start the Trent-Severn IF you are going the "normal" route (counter clockwise); but this was #43 for we Nomads who did it clockwise - hurray!!!!

An update on those with health issues...
Liam came thru his surgery just fine - he's been resting at home with Mommy and Daddy and getting plenty of attention, I'm sure!!!!   Yeah Liam!!!

Talked to my Dad this afternoon - he was feeling better and expecting to receive another blood transfusion tonight.    He has no idea how long he'll be in the hospital  - "Nobody tells me anything"!

Nite nite from Trenton, Ontario

Pat: Glad Grandpa D is feeling better and that Liam came through the surgery just fine and is resting comfortably at home. I guess you and Mark feel like you climbed a tall, tall mountain or something like that to complete the Waterway in just 9 days. Don't know what your expectations were on how long it would take to complete all the locks, etc. Anyway, good luck on your further travels. JudyB
