Saturday…got our Canadian rental car all packed up and off to visit Dad; then quick stop in Sublette for a delicious gyro and onto Dixon to see Mark’s folks. Changed clothes and then met up with old classmates for a tour of good ole Amboy High and reminisced with the Class of ’66. After the tour (we all thought our school had “shrunk”, ) we toured the Depot Museum. Several of us went to 4:30 mass at St. Pat’s and then to the Long Branch Saloon for dinner. 35 classmates came plus spouses or significant others. I had so much fun catching up with these guys and gals – very enjoyable evening! We CANNOT believe it’s been 45 years!!!!! Several of my classmates are GREAT grandparents!!! We spent the night with Mark’s parents. Mark had fun, too, as he knew several from my class.
Long day on the road…. kept chugging along and wanted to get well past Toronto. Traffic coming back into the big city is UNBELIEVABLE (bumper-to-bumper that just goes on and on and on). The “cottage country” folks are returning to their homes. Went thru customs in Sarnia and once again, those NEXUS cards were the ticket to pass everyone by (saved at least an hour with all the traffic backed up in regular lanes). We are staying in Barrie, Ontario tonight!
Nite nite
