Two years ago today, my Mom passed away. This afternoon my Dad was in the hospital for a procedure to stop bleeding in his bladder, but the latest is that he came thru that and is to return to the Lutheran Home tonight. He’s a trooper….

Was nice to have the newspaper on Catrina’s doorstep this morning! This is such a first-class marina ALL the way…including the little shop I browsed around before we left – cute gifts and nautical clothing. I got a sweater which will be nice for these cool Canadian evenings.

It’s a beautiful day and short journey to Bay Port Marina in Midland (12 miles). We have lots of happy memories from 4 years ago when we were here with Philip and Annette (son/daughter-in-law), Drew and Davis (grandsons) and Paul and Kathy (friends).

After lunch, we walked downtown and I got a wonderful pedicure by Amanda at Panache Spa Works while Mark got a rental car. Catrina will be lifted out tomorrow (the Captain versus rocks had a little incident in the Benjamin Islands with the rocks winning.) Some fiberglass repairs will be done while we are home for a week. This trip had been planned to visit our parents, celebrate Connor’s 5th birthday and my class reunion,; just leaving a few days early.

Gorgeoous blooms outside the spa

We drove to Port Severn to pay our lock fees and learn more about the locking system – we’ll be starting thru the Trent-Severn Waterway when we return to Midland. Had another deeeelicious fish dinner from what the nice man from Michigan caught for us on Baie Fine (had been in the freezer).

When we were at this marina 4 years ago, we met Art and Beth who were beside us in their sailboat   We are at a totally different part of the marina this trip.  While I was getting supper ready (frying the fish), Mark walked over to their dock and they were there.    Later this evening, Art, Beth and their friends and fellow dockmates, David and Heidi came over.    We had such a nice visit.
