Saturday - August 4

We woke up to beautiful clear blue skies……leisurely morning of waiting around till our mail came.  After breakfast, I spent a few hours (some frustrating) on the photo book.    It’s coming along, but slowly…

Mail usually comes between 1-1:30, but today…running late.    After lunch Mark got Daisy and Toad all hooked up and we were ready to roll…..went up to office and sat on glider – such a pretty view to look out over Passamaquoddy  Bay where small sailboats were bobbing along.    Judy B ….we could see St. Andrew’s by the Sea only 5 miles as crow flies but  by car it's 40 miles away….maybe when we return end of September?   Finally at 1:50, our mail arrived and we were on our way.

Entering Canada

After clearing customs, we were in St. Stephen - pretty town with gorgeous hanging baskets on all the lightposts.    Another spot to return to as their chocolate factory and museum for Ganong Chocolates is suppsed to be the best around!!!  And St. Stephen is known as "Canada's Chocolate Town"!!!     We drove to St. John, New Brunswick (100 miles) with some very pretty scenery along the way.   Took the ferry from Westfield across the St. John River to Hardings Point Campground.   This place is huge and the campsites are on various levels.   When we checked in, we were asked if we wanted a spot by the water or up on the mountain (hilltop).   We chose the water and then hiked to the top – whew!     Campers are everywhere!    This is New Brunswick’s holiday weekend  (3 day weekend with Monday being the holiday) and the folks are out camping up a storm, partying and having a great time!

Mark grilled out Italian sausage and we had our own little party.  Internet is not working on Daisy so we will walk to the office/store and hopefully get connected and send this out.
It's good to be back in Canada – land of loonies, toonies. Celsius, kilometers, lush flowers and the Canadian flag (red maple leaf) flying proudly everywhere!!!   We have set our clocks one hour ahead (now on Atlantic time)….bring on the Maritime Provinces!
