Tuesday - August 7

After breakfast we did a quick Wal-Mart run and whoaaa…lots of harried moms shopping with little ones for back-to-school supplies – hard to believe it’s that time again!!!    Enjoyed our stay in Moncton, but time to move on!    It was a gorgeous morning and we arrived at the Nova Scotia visitor’s center high on a hill with beautiful views.    Grabbed some brochures, soaked up all the beauty, enjoyed a little gal playing the bagpipes, and kept on truckin……our pretty morning soon gave way to lots of clouds and misty rain all the way to Halifax.

The Woodhaven RV Park in Hammonds Point (suburb of Halifax) will be our home for the next 2 nights.   The weather has cleared and it’s sooo pretty out – low 70’s.   After lunch on Daisy we set off for Peggy’s Cove which is a small rural community along the eastern shore of St. Margaret’s Bay in the regional municipality of Halifax.   I had always heard about this area, but……what a treat and so cool to be here!    The population in 2009 was 46….don’t think it has grown much.    The lighthouse is the most photographed lighthouse in Canada.    We walked all over the boulders overlooking the Atlantic .
Peggy’s Cove is very quaint, charming, rugged and picturesque.

Bagpiper playing "Amazing Grace" and other soulful tunes.

We had some homemade ice cream at DeeDee’s (blueberry/raspberry/blackberry and strawberry called Nova Scotia Berry) It was BERRY good!!!

We came back along the Lighthouse Trail with many pretty lakes, cottages and trees, trees and more trees.      We stopped at Costco – Philip and Annette introduced us to these grand stores in Florida and although we don’t have one back home, we sure see them as we travel around.   It’s fun to wander around!    They have thee best deals for rental cars!!!
