Thursday - September 8

We had a great night's sleep on Catrina and up and off to breakfast at The Wet Dog Café.

Pretty flowers here at the marina - Port Annapolis

Mark and I ran some errands and then loaded up the car, one last chat with Nick the mechanic and we were off to Virginia Beach.

Catrina and Captain

Stopped in Salisbury for a quick lunch and arrived at the hotel around 3:30.   As we were parking in the Hilton deck, we could hear the roar of the Blue and Gold jets - yeah!!!!

We settled into our room and then walked the boardwalk a bit, but really warm so....sat and people watched and then back to Catch 31 for drinks on the patio - its so pretty here with the big round open bar-b-que pits right on the water in King Neptune Park,

While we were enjoying our drinks, Mark got a text from Nick (mechanic) and a video of port engine running....yeah!   Also some pics of new woodworking project to accommodate the new gauges they installed.   He was thrilled to hear that "purring" of the engine!    Nick hopes to finish the starboard engine tomorrow..............yeah!!!!!!    Each day is getting us closer and closer.

Very happy Captain

On September 16, 2015, we were last on Catrina, left her in Herrington Harbor (south of Annapolis) with  the 2 bad engines and headed for VA Beach and air show.
We've covered a few miles since then...ha!

Tonight was so much fun.....we met friends from Bloomington who moved o VA Beach after retiring 5 years ago.    We had dinner at Nick's (a local place with great seafood and good home cooking with  unique sides and delicious hushpuppies).

It was great catching up (we were together 2 years ago for air show) and after dinner we walked back to the Hilton and had drinks at Catch 31 on a beautiful evening on the patio.    At Neptune Park and with a perfect view from our table, we enjoyed great music at the outdoor  amphitheater -
Symphony by the Sea!
