Happy Birthday Brooke!!!
The "horsewoman" in the family....
1 year ago at Rainbow Trout Ranch

Our sweet, kind, fun "daughter"-in-law is celebrating today.   Thank you for giving us Drew, Davis, Brady and Blair!
Congratulations Brady!

And we celebrate (in spirit) with Brady who graduates (finally) today from Concordia Christian Day School in Conover, NC.

We had planned to watch (live stream) his graduation ceremony (11 Pacific time and 2, Eastern time), but obviously a glitch on Facebook and none of us were able to view.    Bummer....
Owen, they need you to fix the problem???

We had breakfast and Mark worked diligently and patiently on making reservations for upcoming stays at campgrounds.   What a challenge.    Along with sooo many campers/RVers in these parts + prime time of the summer + several state and national park campgrounds closed for the season, whoaaa....he had his work cut out.
So, we will be doing some backtracking by going other places first from where we wanted to be (weekends are impossible.....those darn locals want to camp on the weekends)!  😊

It was a beautiful 66 degree day here on Coos Bay....but those strong winds were back as predicted!   Like clockwork, from 1PM-6PM (sometimes earlier and usually later)!   We "tried" going for a walk, but the temp felt much colder than 66 AND, those strong winds left something to be reckoned with !   NOT fun, so....we wimped out.

But later, decided to try Mingus Park in Coos Bay (since we are right on the water, maybe inland won't be so bad)?    Found this lovely park with Japanese Garden, good hiking in the woods (including a frisbee golf course) and nice stroll around a pond with many lily pads.    It was so pleasant out of the wind....

As we were leaving our campground, we saw "Miss Piggy" walking around across from Flo?    Not sure where he/she came from and looked like a harness, so maybe someone's pet?   Now wouldn't that be cozy in your camper???

Piggy at the campground

Pretty trail thru Mingus Park - lots of ivy

We've seen many pools this summer but all are empty and closed.
Here in Mingus Park, a pretty pool but only a few adults doing laps.

Neat red bridge in the Japanese Garden

Beautiful flowering lily pad

So, after our hike ready for a treat.....ice cream?   coffee?   dessert?    We found Kaffe 101 and what a neat shop in an old building.   It was large and so neatly decorated and empty!    We were the only ones there at 2 PM - enjoyed our coffees and chocolate muffin (Mark) and 7-layer bar (me).

Kaffe 101 (love the name)  had this neat sign painted on the wall...

"Let your conversation always be filled with Grace"

Back to Flo....I read and took a nap and Mark was back working on reservations!

Good chat with Brooke and got the scoop on Brady's graduation.

One year ago today Mark had his misfortune with "Jack Dempsey" at the ranch with the compound fracture.   But he has healed nicely - 30# is about his max for lifting, though.
