Sunday - July 12

Today started out drizzly and chilly and what we've always heard about Washington weather (especially Seattle).    We had breakfast, went to Mass with Father David O'Leary from The Church of the Good Shepherd near Boston and then on our way to do more sightseeing.

One thing is for sure since we arrived in this beautiful state almost 2 weeks ago......we have seen a ton of RV's, campers, tiny coffee shops, wild daisies, and trees everywhere!     Of course, add in the beauty of the mountains and magnificent views and it is one heck of a spectacular state!!!

We stopped at Screamin' Espresso for our Sunday coffee fix.    I guess since we went without for 10 weeks while at Lake James (that would be me and my skinny lattes), we are making up for it.   Ha!   These little coffee shops are EVERYWHERE and one cuter than the other and cute names, too.

The rain/drizzle didn't last too long, the sun came out and just a lovely day - got up to 75.

We stopped for lunch at a Jack in the Box - have seen these everywhere but never been.    We sat in Flo in the parking lot and got our fast food fix.    Found a fruit stand and stopped (so much easier when we don't have Flo) and bought some cherries, peaches, apricots, 2 baking potatoes, an onion and a tomato.    Still on the hunt for some smoked salmon.

Back to Flo, opened the windows and enjoyed the fresh breeze.

The flowers up here (every town has their bountiful baskets of blooms) are amazing and I imagine it's cause of the cooler weather and not the beastly summertime heat like we are used to (IL FL NC)

More pretties along the highway

Twice today we've seen signs about "shortage of change" or "need change"???    So,, turns out there is a shortage of coins and blaming it on Covid?    What?    People aren't spending as much $ (coins) and the mint is not making coins as their work force is going at a slower rate.

We did Zoom with 10 siblings and then finished up the laundry.    And that's when we heard that laundromats are one of the places affected by this coin shortage!   Crazy.....

Sloppy Joe's and our fresh fruit (peaches and bing cherries) for supper - good stuff!

Stay safe 'n healthy this week!
