Whew what a day!!! They say 3rd time's a charm and that was the case today. We started off at 6:30 (wanted to get ahead of the higher waves coming later today.) After lots of rain last night, Catrina was sooo wet and buggie! Little tiny gnats were everywhere. We left a very peaceful Sugarloaf Harbor and had 1.5 hrs of nice calm conditions. Then the waves picked up and rest of the trip was 1-3'. So, our 1st stop was to be Port Burwell - no one answered the phone and entrance was shallow going in, so turned around. 8 miles away was Port Bruce - talked to the guy at the only marina and he had nothing for our size and suggested Port Stanley! Another 10 miles and we were welcomed at the Kettle Creek Marina - 111 miles from when we left this morning. All hooked up by 2:30 and very happy to be here.
Saw lots of wind turbines today and a big stretch was these sand dunes.
We'll be staying at least till Tuesday as winds are to be very strong tomorrow.
We walked a few blocks into town - what a cutie.....ice cream, coffee, restaurants, hardware, home decor, fashions, library, etc., etc. My kind of town!!!
The marina lady recommended "Kettle Creek Inn" for dinner - it is an old inn lovingly furnished with 3 inside dining rooms and a nice patio, gazebo, porch area outside. It was such a pretty evening, we sat under the gazebo and both of us had their special - 3 pieces of perch on a bed of brown rice with asparagus all topped off with a tangy pepper sauce - wonderful!!!! We have leftovers for another fine meal.
Back to Catrina and settled in for the night. Anne said their air quality is unhealthy again at 158. Ours is 4 according to the weather channel but we've both been getting alerts on our phones that it is unhealthy for sensitive groups at 110?
Have a good week! No zoom for us tonight - internet is weak along with cell service.
