 HAPPY   BIRTHDAY   BLAIR

Blair is 10

Wow.....my oh my, how the years have flown by and our sweet Miss Priss (aka Chatty Cathy) has reached the ripe ole age of TEN!    She's smart, imaginative, funny, and holds her own with 3 older brothers.    Blair loves school, her friends, dancing, theater, gymnastics, crafts, Camp Lake James, and is a real "girlie girl"    We can't believe she'll be going into 5th grade this fall!

Another beautiful day on the water cruising 51.5 miles from Erieau to Leamington,   We started the day walking to the coffee shop - Five EAU for some yummy pastries and coffee.   Had a nice chat with the young lady who waited on us.   She's a native of Erieau  and we talked about how happy the residents are to have the coffee/ice cream shop in town.    Her step dad, uncle and cousin farm around 10,000 acres (corn, beans, wheat and radishes).   Yup.....radishes are big time in Erieau.    As we were walking back to the boat, the birthday girl called and we did face time and watched her open her card and one present from us (others will wait till her family party tonight).   She was very happy with her Vera Bradley crossbody purse.

We left the dock and said good bye to very friendly Kathy who was out watering all the red impatiens which are all over the marina and absolutely gorgeous!

About 9 miles from Leamington, we came across the Viking ship that cruises the Great Lakes.   It only has 378 passengers and will hit all 5 great lakes.   There were several tenders (zodiaks) taking people to Point Pelee National Park and Leamington.   Sounds like a luxurious way to see our great lakes.   It was anchored 4 miles from Leamington.

Coming into the Leamington Harbor, this big machine was dredging and picking up huge buckets of mud.....same thing going on yesterday in Port Stanley.

Welcome to Leamington

We arrived at 12:15, all settled by 12:45, had lunch and then a leisurely afternoon including naps for both of us - all that fresh air and sunshine.    Mark went for a bike ride late afternoon to Canadian Tire - he was quite impressed.   Soon as he walked in the door, a big screen greeted him asking what he was looking for.   He typed in his item and directed him to exact spot!   Pretty cool and that's service!!!    When we've visited here 3 previous times, we rode bikes on a gravel trail but it was ok as pretty packed down.   Now with the electric bikes and some new gravel, Mark did not care for the path and knew it would not be my thing!!!

We left for a walk on the beutiful brick walkway along the harbour....met our neighbors (2 ladies and a very friendly dog, Jersey) from Marblehead who are enjoying their brand new Ranger Tug boat.

Leamington has always blown us away with its magnificent HUGE overflowing hanging baskets, HUGE concrete tubs and flower beds all over the place.    I can only imagine the $$$ they must spend on flowers!   But a bit disappointed this year - still many baskets and tubs and in-ground plantings, but also, a lot of bare area which they filled in with mulch?
Still a very pretty area - we stopped at Burgess Refreshments (Mark got a foot-long chili dog and I got a small heavenly hash cone)!   Back home - beautiful evening!

We plan to stay here for a few days - tomorrow, going to rent a car and get out and do a little land trip and check out some areas we saw from the water.
