 HAPPY   BIRTHDAY   BROOKE!

Millie and Brooke

Wishing our "daughter" Brooke a very special day - we're so blessed to have her in the family (almost 25 years) and very thankful she married Michael and gave us Drew, Davis, Brady and Blair.

Mark walked to the coffee shop and brought back a latte and a glorious morning muffin for me and breakfast sandwich for himself.  A very good day on the water cruising from Port Stanley to Erieau (ErieO - 49.6 miles).    We first got fuel at Stan's Marina a short jaunt from Kettle Creek (diesel is $2 per gallon higher than the US), went thru the 9:30 bridge opening and on our way.   The next port is Port Glasgow but they never returned Mark's calls, it's a small marina and there is nothing but a beach.

We checked Port Glasgow off the list as we "tried" and passed by

Erieau is a very small town of 363 year-round residents but has a huge marina with   summer tourists and weekend boaters.  It's connected to a campground, too (you must have a boat in the marina to park your RV).   We are actually on a peninsula with Erieau connecting Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay.

We settled in, had lunch, met Kathy, the very friendly office gal who directed us to downtown.

What a pretty welcome outside the marina office

Didn't take long to find the little village of Erieau and as Kathy pointed out, they just opened a coffee shop with ice cream, some bakery items, clothing, etc.    This is all called "Five Eau" (5-O).   The building had been a variety of stores in years past, then condemed and I imagine, a real eyesore.   A young couple bought it and now they have done some major new construction (along with keeping a bit of the old) and have a nice facility + it all smelled so new.    So, I was excited about the coffee (tomorrow) and we took care of our ice cream fix and then walked around and back to the marina.   Another couple was just checking in and we asked where they were from - Catawba Island - holy moly and we're Port Clinton!!!    Such a small world.   They just started their journey yesterday.

We had a good chat with the birthday girl - they (Michael, Brooke, Brady and Blair) were on their way to dinner in Asheville.

Walked downtown to Molly and OJ's for dinner - this place (the only restaurant in town) was highly recommended and it was  excellent!!!    We each had the halibut stuffed with  scallops, shrimp and lobster in a yummy sauce, grilled veggies and baked potato (me) and rice (Mark).   Very good!  Took our leftovers back to the boat and walked - absolutely beautiful evening.

Wow!!!
