Wednesday - July 12

Another cooker!    I walked and Mark took Ryan to work.    He's flying to Chicago after work so was pulling suitcase, briefcase and garment bag - off to military wedding this weekend in South Bend at Notre Dame.    His former roommate, John Hiltz who was Blue Angel #2 pilot when Ryan was narrator is getting married and a  bunch of Blues and spouses are coming for a
big weekend/reunion of fun!!!

Mark and I then left for Annapolis to pick up Toad with several stops beforehand.    We went to Costco and stocked up for Annette and us.    Few more errands, wonderful lunch at Miss Shirley's Café and then hooked Toad up to the truck and brought back to DC.

Ryan called around 4 and said his flight was seriously delayed and could we pick him up at 4:45 and come on back to the boat and wait?

Well....when we arrived to pick him up, he was on the phone and although severe storms in the Midwest caused all the cancellations and delays, they were able to reroute him on United from Dulles.   He was supposed to fly out of Reagan which is MUCH closer.   Long trip, but 2 hours and 40 minutes from the time we left the boat. we were back again!
DC traffic is NUTS and of course, it was rush hour!!!!
Mark did great navigating in all that craziness - no way would I have wanted to be behind the wheel!

Miss Shirley's fare,,,
Southern cobb salad and grilled cheese with bacon and tomato sandwich!

Mark had spinach/asparagus salad and bbq pulled pork with cheddar cheese!
Wonderful awesome goodies at Miss Shirley's

When we returned back to The Yards, we went to The Rose, a very neat, pretty outdoor area of pink/white striped umbrella tables, benches with colorful pillows serving great drinks and a limited menu of food.

I had a marvelous pina colada and Mark had a rum drink he really liked.   We shared a shrimp cocktail....yummy!

Busy day on the road and happy to be back home!

07/13 - Isn't this weather just the pits - retd from my 2.2 mile walk and I'm drenched! Should have been out at 6 am instead of 8. I'm loving that pic from Miss Shirley's. Happy trails to you both ❤️, C
