Tuesday - April 6

Wish we could bottle up this FL weather and take with us!   Just wonderful day after day!

I walked and then we were off to run several errands with our first stop at Bennett's Donuts downtown (1st time this year) and as always, delicious (I had a maple toffee and a cinnamon roll for Mark + 2 apple fritters for Martin and Rog - neighbors).

Then to Trader Joe's, eye glass world (Mark got new progressive sunglasses), Run Florida (I got some new tennies) Bed, Bath & Beyond and finally a grocery pick up at WalMart.

The past 2 brands of tennies I've gotten are sooo comfy - Saucony and Salomon.    The sales guy who is no nice and helpful asked if I wanted to donate my old Saucony shoes to an addiction center where they would be much appreciated.    They are showing some wear but nothing serious, so glad to give someone else these great comfortable shoes.

On home, put away the groceries, had lunch and Mark left to run more errands.   Long face time chat with Blair and then we were off again to downtown and the Luminary Hotel where we met Connie and Steve.    We walked around (their 1st visit) and then rode the elevator to the 12th floor and the Beacon (roof-top bar and small plates).    Several other folks had the same idea but when the doors opened at 4, we all got tables and enjoyed the beautiful views, wonderful drinks/food.   It was delightful and a definite place to return to.

Connie and Steve

We had some awesome appetizers (crab rangoon, potstickers, breaded cauliflower and lemongrass shrimp sliders) and then decided dessert was in order so we walked to Cabos Cantina where we had snickers chimichanga (Connie and me) and sopapilla (Steve and Mark).

A snicker wrapped in a tortilla, deep fried, drizzled with chocolate
and ice cream in a shell - OMG!!!!!!

A great ending to the day being with these long-time friends (since the early 70's) and look forward to more fun this fall.
