Monday - July 10

"On a Clear Day you can see Forever" is a good way to describe today's weather - 76 sunny degrees along our route to Erie, PA.    We left Geneva-on-the-Lake at 8:40, stopped at the Erie Yacht Club for fuel and pump out and all settled along the wall at the Wolverine Marina by 12:45.    We've been here before - good location for walking to restaurants, hotels, and the boardwalk.

Around 4, we started walking (the toe is not as colorful as yesterday but my Captain was ready to get off the boat).   Maybe it's just a bad sprain or bruise?  He did fine and we chose our spot for dinner.    We remember this area so well and there are nice additions including Oliver's Brewery outside with lots of seating, mini golf, cornhole, etc.  This place is huge!    Oliver's also has a very upscale restaurant on the rooftop of the Hampton next door.    Oliver Hazzard Perry was the commodore in the war of 1812 and his famous slogan "Don't Give up the Ship" is very popular (clothing, flags, etc.) as it is in Port Clinton, Put-in-Bay, Catawba Island, etc.

There's a long indoor skywalk bridge over the water connecting the Sheraton to the Erie Convention Center.    We've walked over this numerous times but today they had a sign about "yoga on the bridge" - wow....another awesome place to meditate just like on the beach in Vermilion!!!

Back to Catrina for some pre-dinner drinks.   And then off to our 6:00 reservation at the Bayfront Grille in the Sheraton.   Very good (pasta for Mark and a salad/crab corn chowder for me).    Walked for awhile and then back to Catrina.    Such a pretty evening.

A black Hatteras (pricey yacht) came in this afternoon and docked behind us.   You never see an all-black boat but that's what this was crewed by some young guys.   They bought it in Chicago and heading to Maryland.

Black Hatteras

Mark visited with a guy from Canada who came in this afternoon.    He and his wife spend the winters in Cape Coral!    I had just read about the Boathouse in Cape Coral reopening today (brand new) after Ian destroyed the previous one,    A bunch of investors with the Kearnes group own several restaurants in downtown Fort Myers (many favorites) + our Boathouse and the article said the Boathouse in Cape Coral is the biggest  revenue producer of all these restaurants with $12m a year!!!    WOW!!!!!    Our Fort Myers Boathouse is #2 in revenue!

Tomorrow......CANADA, here we come!
