Saturday - September 5

 Another winner in the weather department!     We had bacon/eggs/English muffins for breakfast.

 Today is our last day to quarantine.....we drove into town for all contactless stops.....Anne's to drop off some things, storage, Wal-Mart pick-up and my car's 1st car wash!    It gets so dusty sitting out here in the country.     XM music from the 60's was playing the top 100 summertime hits - oh my.....thee best oldies!!!    

Back to Flo and enjoyed this nice day sitting outside on our chase lounges and read!

Watched the Kentucky Derby.....sad to see the empty stands and really missed all the ladies hats!

I walked after supper - Mark took a day off and giving his back some rest.

Euchre with Mark and Nancy - we gals were partners and had awful cards so lost 3 of 3 to the guys!

55 years ago tonight Mark and I had our "First" date - we went to the Tri County Fair in Mendota, IL.   WOW.......we've had lots of adventures since that memorable night!

 

Friday - September 4

A picture-perfect late-summer day.    Absolutely delightful with deep blue skies and 78 degrees.     We walked this morning (Mark not as far as his back was hurting).    Then we washed windows, screens and the sills on Flo.     Mark's a trooper and worked hard - never knows when the back is going to act up?    He has appt. next week with NP at his orthopedic doctor's office.

Kamp Komfort is going to be a happening place the next few days as 24 new campers are coming in today.    Since the office is closed and everything remains contactless, Micci (office manager) tapes each reservation to office door for folks to pick up and see which site they'll be in.    24 envelopes on the door this morning!!!   Most are from IL - families coming out for a holiday weekend of fun!

We;'ve enjoyed visiting with our neighbors, Dennis and Donna who are full-time RVers originally from Rhode Island.    They have been here since before us and leaving one week from today.

I did one more walk this evening - KK is hustlin' and bustlin with lots of families/friends gathered around their picnic tables, campfires a'blazin and kiddies running here and there!

September 2, 2020

 Clear blue sunny skies and very breezy with gusts to 26 mph.    Leisurely morning, euchre with Mark and Nancy - the guys beat Nancy and me 2 of 3.    Arghhh.

Lunch and then a long walk along the country road.    Jim (Mark's brother) and Lydia have been in Traverse City, MI in their RV the month of August.    Now on their way home to St. Louis, they stopped in Kamp Komfort for the night.    We had a nice visit (long distance) this afternoon.    They brought us some delicious cake, turtles and truffles from their son and daughter-in-law's bakery with Candi's family near Manitowoc, WI.    Oh my......absolutely delicious!!!    Thank you sooo much!

After supper, Mark and I went for a nice walk - gorgeous evening.    We taught Jim and Lydia to play Virtual Euchre thru Trickster.....they really liked it and Mark and Lydia as partners won 1 game and same for Jim and me.    So really neat that we played with 2 of Mark's siblings today!!!

Wednesday - September 2

 Walked in the morning....the crops and all the grass sure got a big boost from the rain!    Thank you God!

Today Mark got an e-mail for the dates of his "56th" class reunion now set for September 20-24, 2021 in Branson.    So, that is my first entry in my 2021 calendar.   I love long-term planning!!!    Who knows what one year from now will be like?

Cabin fever hit Matk in the afternoon and since my car probably felt neglected, we went for a ride in the country.     Saw 2 schools (high school and elementary) in session - good to see that!

We called Brady this afternoon and had a good chat.    Tonight he's being confirmed at St. Joseph's in Newton, NC.    This was originally planned for June 25th and Uncle Ryan was to be his sponsor.    Then Ryan had another commitment and Brady asked me.    Because of Covid, that date was cancelled, and September 2 was the new date.    Since all the paperwork had been sent into the Charlotte diocese with me listed as his sponsor,, Brady asked me to be there for him tonight.    And that had been the plan as we were to be in NC this week.....once again Covid messed up the plans and now, Uncle Ryan will be standing in for me tonight!    Did you follow all that???    😊

Did Zoom with Claire and Kathy.    Walked this evening - really pleasant out.  And later, euchre with Mark and Nancy with Mark C and Nancy winning 2 of 3 from Mark F and me.    Always fun to play!

Tuesday - September 1

 WELCOME September and a great way to start a new month with a rainy Tuesday and so thankful for each and every drop!    

It was a good day to just hunker down catching up on computer stuff, read, and play 2 games of euchre with Mark and Nancy with the guys winning both games.

Pat and Brenda drove out in the country to KK in the rain this afternoon and brought us chocolate shakes from Steak 'n Shake (thee best) and chocolate zucchini bread!     So blessed with wonderful friends!

The rain stopped around 4ish and so happy that we got 1.25" according to app on Mark's I-pad.

We went for a walk and can report that Ohio gets the prize tonight with 5 RV's from that state here at KK.!
