August 7-8

We had a wonderful weekend in St. Louis.   Saturday morning brought cloudless blue skies and around 90 (humidity wasn't all that bad).    We slept in, had breakfast with Philip and Annette and then shopped at Trader Joe's for wine and goodies.   Sat around the pool with  Bob, Linda, Jennifer and my cousins soaking our tootsies in the refreshing water. Had lunch at Steak 'n Shake and Anne, Patrick and boys arrived and joined us for shakes

Got our gussied-up clothes on and off to the wedding.   I was at the guest book and also did the readings.   It was a beautiful wedding and ceremony for my nephew, David and his bride, Ashley.

Ashley and David
Vicki and Ron (my brother) - parents of the groom
Philip and Annette

Anne, Patrick, Connor and Liam
My cousin, Dick and Mary (looking good on the blog, Mary)!

Sunday....HOT & SUNNY.    Mark and I went to 10:15 Mass at Sacred Heart, packed up our stuff and off to Kimmswick and the Blue Owl to meet his brother, Jim and Lydia and her Dad.   We had another great lunch and visit.    We ordered desserts to go and back to their home for coffee and our treats!    If you're ever near Kimmswick, do stop in at the Blue Owl - food is wonderful and desserts are phenomenal (mile-high pies, cakes, and so much more!)

Driving home thru southern IL on Highway 267 from Alton to Jacksonville, we passed thru several interesting towns we'd never heard of - "Wrights", "Brighton", "Athensville", "Medora", "Woodson",
"Rockbridge", "Greenfield",  "Alexander" just to name a few!

Hope you all had a fun weekend!

Pat: Am so jealous you had dessert from the Blue Owl. Yes, their desserts are the best!!!!!!!!! The C's are here for the week and are nighty, night now. Had a fun day at the Lake with everyone. Great weather, but still quite hot, but not too too humid. Davis and Drew really took a beating tubing with Michael driving. Drew finally went air borne, but took it like a trooper. Have a good week!!!!!!!
