God Bless America

A big "Thank You" to all the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our
nation's freedom!

Hope all of you have had a memorable, safe holiday weekend!

Here's an update of our weekend at Lake James:
Saturday - nice sunny start to the weekend and after breakfast, we packed a picnic lunch and off on the pontoon for an afternoon of "fun in the sun".    Went for a leisurely ride, Davis and Blair rode the
tube and Grandma took a short nap.    Then it was time to clean up.     Blair and Brady stayed with Linda (long-time sitter), Drew stayed at the lake and rest of us went to Davis's graduation banquet.    Met Bob and  Judy and had a nice evening of eating, visiting, introduction of  parents and grandparents (and others) by the graduates, followed by 2 videos, teacher comments, etc.    Back to the lake around 10ish.

Blair looks a bit apprehensive, but loved tubing with Davis.   The first of many times I'm sure!

Sunday - rainy day, but we're celebrating Davis's 8th grade graduation from Concordia Christian
Day School and we're going to party!!!

Off in 2 cars for the 10:30 church service and graduation, followed by pictures, throwing of the caps, etc.   Bob and Judy were there and we all went to Cracker Barrel in Morganton (45 minute wait), but good food and back to lake.   So happy the rain held off till after pictures on our way to lunch.    Played 5-handed euchre (Bob, Judy, Drew, Mark and me) in the afternoon with Judy winning 2x and Mark, once.

Had a delicious beef tenderloin dinner with roasted veggies, and baked potatoes.   Sat on the screened-in porch with a nice fire.

Memorial Day -  Beautiful holiday but today we have to pack up and head back to Newton.    Some of Blair's little friends stopped by (Ella, Leah, Brynn and Ruthie - all sisters).

Drew and Grandpa assembled 2 teak benches for the porches.  We all left for home with Drew driving my car back and I rode with him - stopped at Target to get water balloons for Brady's field day.    Brady and Grandpa washed Daisy and then the 3 boys went golfing.
